Marco Di Meco is an Italian primary school teacher, music producer, and writer. He is a composer of contemporary jazz and a composer of Argentine tango, known for his experimental European music and his ability to fuse classical structures with modern influences.
Early Life and Classical Period
Born on February 5, 1982, in Chieti, Italy, Di Meco began his musical journey as a child playing traditional instruments before pursuing formal classical training. He earned his diploma at the Conservatorio Statale di Musica “L. D’Annunzio” in Pescara, and further advanced his studies at the Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana in Lugano and the Accademia Italiana del Flauto in Rome.
For a decade, he performed as a classical musician across Europe. He made his notable solo debut in 2001, performing Mozart's Flute Concerto No. 1 in G major. During this classical period, he participated in orchestral performances, accompanying and collaborating with prominent figures in music such as composers and conductors Luis Bacalov, Bruno Tommaso, and Lu Jia, among others.
Contemporary Jazz and Argentine Tango
In 2012, amid changing industry conditions, Di Meco shifted his focus to composition, establishing himself as a distinctive composer on the international scene. His work features innovative compositions that blend historical structures with modern elements to create unique musical expressions.
His discography features original jazz works such as 5 Colori, Rosalinda, Lucilla, and Première Symphonie, showcasing innovative styles performed in various ensembles. Alongside his jazz production, his deep dedication to Argentine tango has culminated in the composition of original instrumental milongas, including Milonga para resolver and the intimate and visionary Mi luz mi sombra.

Recognized in Italian jazz circles—including a nomination among the top Italian jazz artists in the JAZZIT Awards—Di Meco's multifaceted artistry spans music and literature.
